About our Chair:
Yvette Willson is a licensed attorney, Director of the R-VOICE Center, (Penn State’s relationship violence, advocacy, and education center), and an Adjunct Assistant Teaching Professor with more than thirty years of experience in law, higher education, advocacy, and leadership. Her work focuses on survivor advocacy, Title IX, interpersonal violence prevention, and building equitable, trauma-informed systems of support.
Yvette has extensive experience in Title IX compliance, victim rights, higher education law, and the criminal justice system. She teaches on topics including sexual and relationship violence, prevention education, bystander intervention, and legal issues in higher education.
Prior to her current role, Yvette served as an Assistant District Attorney prosecuting sexual assault and domestic violence cases, a Victim Rights Attorney representing survivors, and Associate Director of Penn State’s Title IX Office.
In addition to her professional work, Yvette is actively involved in community leadership and service through organizations focused on human relations, LGBTQ advocacy, homelessness support, and pro bono legal work.
